My swap package from my partner Colleen arrived last week, so I'm a bit late getting the goods into public view, but WOW! What a thoughtful swap package. Colleen must be extremely intuitive because she picked out things that my friends would have! Starting with this vintage 1960's dream book. I love it and can't believe she found one in the appropriate colors!
The opening made me laugh. Who knew it's an ordinary housewife's dream to go dancing with Lyndon Baines Johnson!
Then, for all of you known to imbibe (only on special occasions of course!) you can really make pals with the bartender when you call him or her "The Keeper Of The Bottle"!
I haven't done it so much this season, but scouring the thrift stores for vintage ornaments is one of my my favorite things to do. Colleen saved me a trip...well, one trip...I vow to get to at least one or two this year.
Look at this little being:
Then she found this ornament made from a real egg!
And this dishtowel showing a scene of domestic bliss:
This lovely sparkly house of seven windows and double doors:
Here is a real treat...a vintage cracker!
I looked closely and saw that it had never been opened. I debated...do I tuck it away as a mysterious little decoration or do I open it (carefully)? Anyone who knows me knows that the cracker stood no chance. I carefully opened it and look what was inside...a mystery scroll!
I unrolled it from its wrappings and:
So now we know this must have been a handmade favor! I wonder who this T.J. Murphy was...look closely...do you see the joke! Aghahahahahaha! Thank you Colleen! I assure you that I've repackaged it good as new and I also got some idea's about making my own Yuletide crackers for our family celebration.
To top off the dream package...was the package. My favorite part. All of the gifts were placed inside of my new favorite possession...
From the fruit to the handle...to the shape...I love my little suitcase and cannot wait to put it to use in the studio.
I'll be back tomorrow all! I'm baking pies...
