I thought it might be fun to have a weekly feature where I share a blog I love. I know, just what you need, another blog to love and another reason you'll never get anything done and lose morning after morning, but I can't help it...I'm a sadist! (If you don't like the overuse of punctuation, my blog may not be for you.)
I was going to start by sharing one of the blogs I read daily, but in this here inaugural post, I'm already breaking from tradition.
I just discovered Vivienne McMaster and I know I'll be back. I found her on another blog (also a favorite) and want you to know about her. She is a photographer who is offering an on-line workshop called Wading In . If you do read blogs, maybe you've envied how so many of the bloggers out here take such charming, beautiful and quirky photos of themselves. Vivienne's e-course is designed to teach us how to be comfortable with self-portraiture (you can even use your camera phone). I'd like to feel better about photos of myself or even simply photos of parts of myself the way some bloggers post. You know the ones, the perfect shoes, legs and peep of a skirt hem draped over a chair. Well, I've tried this and I'll bet you don't rememer seeing it. Why? Because they never make it to the blog. I feel that mine look more silly and contrived than they do artsy. Do you have the same issue?
Now, if you want to be moved to your core, I hope you watch this video in one of Vivienne's posts. It is about a remarkable and totally undiscovered in her lifetime female mid-century photographer who just may be one of the best in the world. It is a phenomenal story. Please do go over at check it out. The story is wonderful and the photographs (most were taken of people on the streets of Chicago) will knock you out.
Maybe we can do a link thing with photos, but I haven't set it up yet, so for now, if there is a blog you love and want others to love to0, please share a link in the comments.
And, if you have nothing to do today, you can always go here...but I warn you...it's like falling into a rabbit hole of blog extravaganza! I don't know about you, but I love finding new music, books, pieces of inspiration and motivation in the blogs I read from women all over the world.
