Hello Kitchenettes! I'm in a great mood! I was off yesterday and got inspired to make some wallets. I finally found something I think I can do without becoming bored after a few. How is this possible? Well, I can use any paper I want...from newspapers, natural fibers, tissue, contemporary patterns, vintage magazines and children's books. Plus, how cool would it be to use old charts and maps to make passport carriers? I have some brochures I've collected on various vacations and even some paper menus to try. Hey, what about foreign newspapers! I might try making checkbook holders too!
They each have two pockets and these are just a few of the designs, perfect for cash and credit or business cards! They're laminated and durable.
Plus, while out thrifting today, I found this, which I plan to use to hold magazines. Funny, how lately I've been drawn to 70's oranges, yellows and browns in spite of my deep love of solid natural decor (think Real Simple magazine). Oh well, variety is everything.
Ok, I am off to bed. The rest of you are probably sound asleep, but I just finished having sugar wafers and listening to Imogen. The daisies in my garden are in full swing and it feels good over here. I love my blog because I find I notice more of what's going on around me. Mark was waiting for dinner to be served the other night and wondered what the hold up was..."Oh man, are you in there taking pictures for your blog again?" Well, am I ever not? HAHAHAHAHA! This is what I meant in the beginning when I said I need to pay attention to the little things that give me joy and stop obsessing over the big "real world" things that need more time to sort themselves out. Though I have had some very still and not photographed moments lately...it's been hard, but good. On Friday I start writing for Script Frenzy, which is the kind of fun approach I need to take with my writing these days.
